The painting depicts the change the environment undertakes as it transitions from the wet to the dry season.
During the dry season, Nalirri - hot weather starves the country into drought, grasses, shrubs loose their shades of green, country is dry, awaiting Ngappa Kangkurr-Kangkurr, rainy time.
