Nalirri - Hot/Dry Season

The wet and dry seasons hold a significant meaning for Aboriginal peoples.

The painting depicts the transformation the environment endures as Nalirri - hot weather starves country into drought; plants shrubs, grasses and trees display subtle changes of color indicating the change of season.

The maintenance of waterholes and rock waterholes are of particular importance during this time and are represented in the paintings design by concentric circles.
  
The artwork serves not only as a visual representation of the environment but also as a means of passing on cultural knowledge to understand changes in the plants, animals, and climate.

Changes in the environment indicates what to eat, when to eat it, what to do, where to live and when to move.
